NZ prepares to welcome Prince Charles and Camilla

New Zealanders are being encouraged to take the opportunity to meet the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall after they touchdown in New Zealand this weekend for their tour to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
The Prince and Duchess arrive at the Royal New Zealand Air Force Base in Auckland at around 9.30pm on November 10 for a six day visit. Their official programme has just been released.

Prince Charles is to celebrate his 64th birthday in New Zealand on November 14 at a party with 64 other New Zealanders.

The Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II is being celebrated in a right royal way at the Auckland Museum this June. Do join us this Queen’s Birthday weekend for the experience.

Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne in 1952. 

The first royal visit after her coronation was to New Zealand In 1953 and Auckland Museum has a special showing of still and archival images from the tour in the Grand Foyer. 

There is also crown-making and vox-pops in Weird & Wonderful and special Royal Tours of the Museum will take place on Monday 4 June.

The Museum of Wellington City & Sea Lambton Quay have replicas of The Crown Jewels on display this weekend

Britains 1000 Boat flotilla on the River Thames 

led by the Queens Royal Barge will be decorated in 17th 18th Century style and covered with flowers from the Queens gardens.

The New Zealand Waka “Te Hono Ki Aotearoa” joins the flotilla also the Shackleton & the Swiftsure.Our PM John Key & Govt General Jaerry Mateparae are in attendance.$1 mill. 

Attributed to The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Trust,$500 thousand for a visitors centre at Govt House in Wellington,$500 thousand funded from the Health Ministry & Health Research to mark the Jubilee, and NZ will pay for the visit by The Prince of Wales & Duchess of Cornwall visit later this year which is also part of the Queens Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.

Mokotahi Hill

This landmark headland is of scenic, archaeological and historic value and was gifted to QEII by the Ormond family to ensure its long-term protection.

Free public access is available and development of a walking track and signage is planned. Panoramic views of the picturesque coastline and nearby Mahia Beach settlement can be seen from the summit.

Location: Approximately 46 km east of Wairoa. Turn off State Highway 2 at Nuhaka and follow signposts to Mahia Beach. Mokotahi Hill is located at the south end of Mahia Beach.
