It is understood
that a decision from Solid Energy on whether it will allow recovery teams to
re-enter the drift of the Pike
River mine is imminent.
The drift is not the
mine itself, but the two-kilometre tunnel that leads to the mine.
Families of the
victims are desperate for a mission to collect evidence and to see if there are
any bodies in the drift.
They say if Solid
Energy won't do it, they will.
They say they know
there are bodies in the mine, and tonight, with their blessing and for the
first time, we can show you their evidence.
Dean Dunbar, the
father of lost miner Joseph Dunbar, spoke with Campbell Live producer Kate McCallum.

interview with Dean Dunbar.

The Pike River
Mine
19 November 2010
12 days away to the memorial
The Pike River

2010 in the Pike River
Mine, 46 kilometres (29 mi) northeast of Greymouth, in the West Coast Region of
New Zealand's South Island.
Families back Pike
River civil case
3News NZ-2 hours ago
No one has been held criminally responsible, with police saying
last year that without gaining re-entry into the mine, there was not enough
evidence to link individuals with specific events leading up to the explosion.
The Government has now asked Crown Law to investigate the
possibility of a civil suit.
Government does not have a plan let alone a plan b
So great is their faith they believe it
will ‘go away’
They do have a mine -its not going
anywhere
They have an energy company who has
stalled over any chance of entry into the mine and recovering any data and /or
the remains of the deceased miners
Exit one mining company enter another?
They have families the survivers of the
29 miners lost in the mining accident who are still being fed a C& B story
They have their endless royal
commissions inhaling funds that could have been used elsewhere
They have a Prime Minister John Key who
is aware of the shortfalls and inadequate policies & practices in place
They have an energy & resource
Minister who is managing to read the appropriate things to say and one of the
key points in his words were a focus on “care of the feelings of the families
who may be able to move on” move on to where simon bridges?
You make ‘moving on ‘sound like some
tourist destination that nice feely people should want to go to. Smarmy suck it
up out of place standard expressions for newbie car salesmen by a new wave nice
kind of guy. For Gods sake –gross!
Are you guys planning on rectifying
your faulty laws & policies and putting in place some safety standards and
measures and would that be likely today tomorrow or in the near or far future.
Still planning on jacking up off shore
drilling?No!
Do you guys really think you are up to
it and capable of dealing with any more dramas in mining? No!
Do you have the practical side of
things under control?No!
Have you decided yet who should be in
charge at any future mining disasters? No!
What kind of compensation have you in
place for any one exposed to your bad practices, laws and policies?None –thought
so!
Where was the Labour Department in all
this or was it dismantled?
Nothing has been done except talk &
more talk .Well you guys can’t keep burying your heads in the sand because the
whole country is listening waiting and watching.
So far we have heard your speeches and the
repetitiveness is ridiculous read what you are saying.
If I was one of the survivors you’d be
“doing my head in” as it is I’m really annoyed that you are doing this to any
New Zealander.
You guys need a good kick up the britches
for this!
No shame- diminished responsibilties.
No sympathy either - sticking your
heads in the sand ain’t gonna make it go away.
